Food distribution is every Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 12pm at 305 East Trade Street in Dallas NC

Addition Details for the Food Assistance Program

  • Food assistance is available for anyone who lives in Gaston County.

  • No ID is required for TEFAP food assistance.

  • Food is distributed via drive thru only.

  • No appointment is required.

  • Food is distributed on a first come first serve basis.

  • Clients are asked to line up in the parallel parking spaces on Trade St and continue on to College St.

Utility Assistance Program

Assistance applications are available online

Addition Details for the Utility Assistance Program

  • To receive utility assistance you must live in Dallas, High Shoals, Alexis, or Stanley.

  • Clients can only receive help with utilities every six months.

  • Funds available during service determine the amount available to pay on a client’s utilities.

  • Assistance Applications are available online.

Medication Expense Program

Available by Appointment at 305 East Trade Street in Dallas NC

Addition Details for Medication Assistance Program

  • All medication requests are handled over the phone.

  • Clients who live in the Dallas, High Shoals, Alexis, and Stanley areas are eligible to receive help on a designated list of prescription medications and some over-the-counter medications at Dallas Express Pharmacy only.

  • Medication assistance is determined on a case-to-case basis. Please call 704-922-1236 and speak to a volunteer. 

Hope for the Homeless Program

Offering additional assistance for the homeless and displaced in the Dallas, High Shoals, Alexis and Stanley area

Addition Details for Hope for the Homeless Program

  • Clients must live in Dallas, High Shoals, Stanley or Alexis area

  • Client will be interviewed by a volunteer to establish qualifications

  • Must be homeless or displaced ie. no stable home environment, tent or abandoned buildings, etc.

  • Offers ready-to-eat meals, items, and one hot meal weekly for those who qualify.

CSFP - Low Income Senior Program

CSFP works to improve the health of individuals 60 and older who are living with a low income. The program provides a monthly package of food designed to supplement the nutritional needs of senior citizens.

This program serves 155 of the county’s lowest-income senior citizens.

These clients are interviewed and enrolled in this program.

There is a waiting list at this time. If you are interested in applying for this program, please call to speak to a volunteer to add your name to the waiting list.

Christmas Assistance Program

Program applications begin each November.

Addition Details on the Christmas Assistance Program

  • Our Christmas assistance program is available for residents of Dallas, High Shoals, Alexis, and Stanley only.

  • Children must be ages 0-18

  • The application process begins in November.

  • A birth certificate and proof of guardianship are required for each child.

  • If your child has received assistance in the past then you do not need to resubmit any government forms.
