Glimmers

*Glen and Shelby are a special needs couple in their 70s. When they arrived at Dallas Christian Ministry, they were homeless and had no hope for their own future. They didn’t see an end in sight, and they didn’t realize they qualified for assistance.

Our team quickly worked to provide for their immediate and basic needs with blankets, warm clothing, shoes, and food. We also worked to sign them up for our Commodity Supplemental Food Program for low-income seniors.

By providing for their immediate needs and helping them see glimmers of hope, they were able to take additional steps toward greater security. For three months, we received a weekly thank you note from Shelby. “We wouldn’t know what to do without you!”
